Legendary Rum Punch Recipe is the Taste of Turks and Caicos

Hemingway Would Go

When it comes to the drink, few historical figures are as legendary as Ernest Hemingway – a name whose very mention brings to mind a life as steeped in adventure as alcohol. “To drink is nothing,” proclaimed the man who once shot himself in both legs while drunkenly trying to kill a shark. “It is to be drunk that is important.” And while we don’t recommend getting as epically blitzed as he did, your stay at The Sands at Grace Bay should include a stop to the beachfront bar & restaurant baring the ever-inebriated author’s namesake.

The legendary and award-winning Hemingway's Beachfront Restaurant is well known for its food, service and ambience; but the famous Rum Punch is nearly a reason in itself to visit. The Sands at Grace Bay serve their trademark cocktail to guests at resort check-in, during their Tuesday Manager's Cocktail party; and of course, it is available for your drinking pleasure any time of day or night - around the pool or relaxing in the shade on the white sand beach. The Rum Punch is always a crowd pleaser at parties and an excellent way to quench your thirst after a day of invigorating activities in tropical Turks & Caicos.

The Sands at Grace Bay Trademark Drink of Choice

We’ve managed to acquire the secret recipe for a little in-home sampling of the delectable cocktail. So, without further ado, may we present to you a cup of Caribbean vibe, straight from Hemingway’s:

  • 1oz Bambarra coconut rum
  • 1oz Bambarra dark rum
  • 3oz orange juice
  • 3oz pineapple juice
  • 1oz grenadine
  • Float with Myers dark rum
  • Cherry/pineapple garnish

Now take a sip and visualize yourself relaxing completely at the Sands at Grace Bay. Get your Hemingway on, as they say, (without the big game hunting, barroom brawls and general mayhem). Just pure bliss & beauty, Caribbean style.
